Hi:

Don't know about Ohio but giving false information to a police officer is not legal and therefore you can get charged with perjury.What is the definition by ohio law enforcement (false information)?
In general, 'giving false information to a law enforcement officer' means what it sounds like - in other words, lying to a law enforcement officer. These type of sections are most often utilized when someone lies about their identity.

In Ohio, section 4513.361 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) covers this to some extent. There also appear to be several local codes in various Ohio cities that probably expand upon the ORC section.

Violation of ORC 4513.361 is a misdemeanor. Misdemeanors generally carry a penalty that may include a fine and/or jail (but not prison) time, and that appears to be the case in Ohio:

';As used in the Revised Code, unless the context otherwise requires, “imprisoned” means:

(A) Imprisoned in a county, multicounty, municipal, municipal-county, or multicounty-municipal jail or workhouse, if the offense is a misdemeanor';
I don't know about Ohio, but I think it is called perjury. Now answer mine.
