Is there such thing as a false fact? whats the definition of fact?

A fact is a piece of knowledge that will not be disproved under the current paradigm. I have never heard the term false fact used before, but obviously a paradigm shift would cause what was previously accepted as a fact to become false, ie. a false fact. An example would be Newton's laws of motion, which were accepted as a fact until Einstein came along and his theories changed the way we look at the universe.Is there such thing as a false fact? whats the definition of fact?
A fact is a piece of information relating to an event that has actually happened or can be verified to be true.

If something is false, it can not have happened and cannot be varified to be correct. A false fact contradicts itself, and therefore does not exist.Is there such thing as a false fact? whats the definition of fact?
Perhaps a fictious truth may be what you are looking for?

Fact: a piece of information that i and others on this site may provide. False: That all the answers you are given are correct.

A fictitious truth: some thing that i made up, but that i am certain that it is true.
Generally, a fact is defined as something that is true, something that actually exists, or something that can be verified.

Bt as u would have heard.. He's got his facts all wrong.. so there can be a dispute to the above also.
well, sort of. a false fact is called a factoid- something that sounds like a fact but it is actually a load of rubbish:

There`s no such thing as a false fact. A fact is a piece of information that is the truth, and you can`t have a false truth.
A false fact is simply a lie or a fallacy or anything that's not factual or real. It means A concept whose truth can be proved. For example, consider this statement: ';scientific hypotheses are not facts';

Hope u got ur answer ;)
A fact is reality. There cannot be a false fact. A fact is something that has been validated and true.
