There are two types of self conscious: 1) Self conscious when you are so absorbed in yourself that you think/believe everyone is looking at you - usually in a negative sense. or, 2) Self Conscious when you are aware of yourself as an individual or of your own being/actions/thoughts/feelings - in an sense of awareness and acknowledgment.
